Problem
MFF is the national body which governs the implementation for Forest Carbon Offset and Carbon Certificate. This requires them to do donor match making, connect proponents with the right industry players and verify/validate carbon emissions and its savings.
Intervention
MFF needed a central system for Proponents, Donors, Verification bodies and VBBs to register and collaborate for their projects with streamlined workflows, reviewed and approved by the MFF team during the Project Information Note and Verification stages of carbon reduction projects.
Outcome
A national-level registry for Malaysia responsible for tracking projects reducing carbon, auditing the carbon credits issued, listing credits on Bursa and third-party exchanges, and tracking sales of credits by issuing the secure certificate.
